I choose a Tech N9ne song because his songs are very powerful and have an emotional connection with his fans through his songs. One of his emotional songs is called this ring. Throughout this song you learn he is married, but he has a character to keep up with, Tech N9ne. While being on the road he knows that his wedding ring, his marriage, reminds him that he does bad things that he does while being away. He wants to be faithful with his wife, but keeping up with Tech N9ne and his marriage is hard to do when he is doing shows for months at a time. The ring allows him to revisit the things he is doing to his wife. Having sex with other women, doing drugs, and being on the road for months at a time allows Tech N9ne leave Aaron Gates at home. He wants to give up Tech N9ne and be with his wife, but being Tech N9ne is what brings home money for his family.  A few months later his wife and Tech N9ne got a divorce. With his other persona Tech N9ne allowed to give up his family for being on the road.

Writer's Biography

Dear Readers,

I was born to Mary Jo and Thomas Jelinek on September 21, 1991. This is when I was destined to write. Growing up in Nebraska I was really interested in school. I wanted to get my hands on every piece of information that was new to me. In elementary school I loved spelling tests, writing short stories, and poems. As I moved on to middle school I wasn't as interested in poems or spelling. Words to me were getting a lot harder and I had difficulty understanding them. Going through middle school led me to be interested in debate. I don't want to brag, but maybe I should since this is my blog. I did really good in debate and won every time except once. My one loss was to a girl in high school. She had also won every debate she had ever been in. The topic was "The War in Iraq". My side was that I was for it. That was definitely not the case, but since my brother had been in Iraq for two years I thought I stood a fighting chance. My brother helped me by talking to me about the war that he fought in and showed me all these interesting pictures. He showed me that part of the war was actually doing some good, but the media just was showing the bad. I sat and watched her speech roll from the heart. From there on I knew she touched people. I still believed my chance was going to be a good one. I got up there gave my side of the story and people got angry with me. They didn't believe anything we were doing did any good for anyone. I stood my grounds, but in the end she won.
High school was my best years for writing. As a freshman I took journalism and English 1-2. I learned a lot in journalism and how the writing differed. English seemed to bore me. Romeo and Juliet was the first book we read, but the only thing we did in English was read and only wrote for journals. I was disappointed. My sophomore became apart of my high school's newspaper staff. Yea I only started as a staff writer, but you have to start low and work your way up. That is exactly what I did. By junior year I became Entertainment Editor for the Orator. It was one of my most proud days of my life. Senior year I stayed as an Entertainment Editor and Photographer. I won two awards my senior year for two of my stories. A few of my photos were in the running for won awards, but didn't make it in the top four. I was proud of myself for what I had accomplished. Newspaper led me to what I am majoring today. It made me realize my passion for writing in general.
When I came to college I was very excited about writing. I didn't jump into Newspaper just yet. I wanted to make sure I got the hang of college first. English 100 taught me what I had never learned in high school. I had so much trouble trying to write an essay rather than an article. The switch was very hard, and will probably trouble me a little in English 104. As hard as it may seem I'm willing to work on it and make myself a better writer.
